When Actors Walked Off Set: Creative Clashes with Directors

James Caan left the set of Accidental Love due to a clash with director David O. Russell. The conflict arose during a scene where Caan's character was supposed to choke on a cookie; Caan argued that it was unrealistic for someone to both cough and choke simultaneously. When Russell suggested filming the scene both ways, Caan decided to leave the set entirely, later describing the departure as amicable but due to "creative differences"

.Another notable incident involved Harvey Keitel, who walked off the set of Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut after enduring an excessive number of takes for a simple scene. Keitel famously expressed his frustration by stating, "you’re f***ing crazy," before leaving the production

.These examples illustrate how creative disagreements and directorial styles can lead actors to abandon film projects.
